Mariel approaches therapy from a collaborative, client-centered lens. She believes you are the expert in your own life and she will take the time to find therapeutic techniques that will be the most helpful to you as an individual. She is passionate about providing culturally sensitive, trauma-informed therapy, and she also believes in using humor when appropriate.
Mariel is a graduate of Roosevelt University where she received her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology Counseling Practice and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She has gained experience working with diverse populations in both clinical and research environments, as well as completing training in domestic violence. Her interests include relationship issues, life transitions, trauma, identity concerns, self-esteem and body image, brain-body connection, and the LGBTQIA population.
