Fatima is a Masters level clinical counselor. Fatima has experience working with College-aged students as well as adults-from all walks of life. Her prior work has commenced in college and community settings. She is keen to break the stigma of mental health in disenfranchised populations, through volunteer work and workshops.
She is aware that during an individual’s life span, one goes through significant mental and emotional turmoil-as change is never easy. Transitioning from one developmental stage to the next is often a daunting experience and requires additional understanding and support. Along with the trauma one may experience, which can lead to an array of mental health concerns such as PTSD, depression, anxiety and stress-related disorders. While also, affecting one’s confidence, self-faith and capacity to build healthy relationships-with others and most importantly with one self.
Keeping these important factors in mind, Fatima likes to keep her approach Trauma informed, as healing from one’s trauma can often be a crucial piece in rehabilitating from mental/emotional pain and distress. Fatima aims to keep the process collaborative, so that you can feel like an integral part of the therapy process. Fatima can also speak Urdu/ Hindi and is conversational in Punjabi, should you require support in those languages.
